The food was really good. The brisket seemed like it was cooked in a crocpot witch id perfer it to be smoked on a grill or smoker. The staff was very busy almost too busy but they were very polite. We sat in the back where it was kind of dark and you could see the kitchen witch I wish I couldn't have. I know this may seem like a bad review but my mother and my aunt enjoyed the brisket baked potato and enjoyed themselves. I had the brisket nachos witch was good, not great. Could use some tweaking of the recipe perhaps. I hope to come across this small town again that has that charm to experience something new at the Carriage On The Square.
Great food and excellent service. A large bit of the town lost power while we were there, and the owner went out of his way to still serve people that came in, as much as he was able with the power not working.

That smell! As soon as you open the door that smokey smell hits you...I knew I was in for some good food & I wasn't wrong. The Runaway Carriage is so filling! I've never had a potato so big. It was loaded with pulled pork, cheese, baked beans & sauce. The smoked potato was cooked through to perfection, & the pork was so tasty. Hubs had ribs & slaw...oh, my, fall off the bone goodness! The dry rub mixed with something that I swear makes them a little like candied ribs. Order at the counter, find a seat (inside or out) & they bring the food to you. Service was excellent. I certainly felt appreciated for being there. Very recommended!
Terrible pulled pork. Wet like it was boiled, not smoked. Slaw sucked too. Was sick for 2 days. I should have left when I saw the trash can in the food prep area overflowing on the floor. I would suggest to stay far away from this place.
Amazing food. The owner is a great guy always nice and makes a point to conversate with all of his customers. Amazing place all around
From out of town and heard we should try this place. Hands down the BEST ribs I've ever had. And I am super picky about ribs. My sister is a chef and makes amazing ribs and I think I even like these better than hers! 😮 (🤫 don't tell her!). They were also very accommodating to me, my husband, my daughter, and super picky eater of a son. 😂 If I ever come back to Greensburg, Indiana I will definitely stop here to eat. ❤ Thanks for the delicious meal and excellent service, you guys.
If you find yourself going through Greensburg, take a trip downtown. There, you will find not only the Tower Tree but you can gaze at it through the windows of the Carrige on The Square Smokehous while sitting at their window side bar.
You will not be disappointed with this local BBQ place. The food is great, and the staff is amazing.
I am not from Greensburg. Was in town for a work trip and asked a colleague for one for their favorite places to eat. No hesitation he said to go to Carriage On The Square Smokehouse.
I really love a good BBQ place with a variety of sauces and meats. I ate every bite on my plate. Delicious brisket and really nice sweet BBQ sauce.
They make their own icecream (and I couldn't not point out I watched an employee making fresh batches even at 7pm!) Do not pass that up! Best vanilla icecream I have ever had. If I get the chance to be in town again, absolutely want to come back.
